As many of you know, in December of 2010, the American League of Lobbyists lost their long time Executive Director, Patti Jo Baber to sudden illness. What you may not know, is that Patti Jo was also a board member of WGR in the early 1980s. She has made an incredible contribution to the field of lobbying, which is why ALL has started a fellowship in her name.

WGR Annual Holiday Reception Recap
December 12th, we held our annual WGR Holiday Reception at the lovely American Gas Association. We wish to express our appreciation to AGA for hosting our event. Attendees brought gift cards from Safeway, Giant and Target in support of the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project. Thank you to all who donated to this worthy cause.

Laurie Bertenthal
Laurie Bertenthal works for Rockwell Collins, Inc., a leading aviation and communications technology company, handling federal affairs for commercial aviation and corporate issues. Prior to joining the company, Laurie was a professional staff member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for four years and earlier she began her career working on PAC fundraising for the National Federation of Independent Business. Laurie recently became a co-chair of the Transportation Task Force because she wanted to take on a leadership role after years of being a member of WGR. Laurie is looking forward to creating transportation-focused programming for WGR members, and engaging with new members.
