Fun Fact: Iíve never ever had a cavity!
About Megan: Though Arizona will always be home to me, Iíve lived in D.C. since 2002; a few years after catching Potomac Fever on a class trip. Iíve lobbied on everything from perfume to motorcycles and quite a few things in between, so I think itís safe to say I am Ďdiversifiedí when it comes to advocacy. On a typical Friday night, youíll find me at home with my husband and awesome 5-year-old, Parker, stereotypically with some type of delicious cocktail in hand.

What attracted you to WGR and how has it helped you personally & professionally? Iíve always thought that women, sometimes secretly and sometimes not, run this town. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across the WGR a few years ago and found them all in the same room! The connections Iíve made and opportunities Iíve been given because of the WGR have absolutely made me stand out as a professional. Iíll always be grateful to all the fantastic women Iíve met through this unique group.

What advice do you have for young women entering the field?
Fake it till you make it! Iíve lived by those six words during my time spent in Washington and have found that confidence is key Ė even if you have to fake it initially. In practical terms, stand up straight, put on a smile and believe that you have every right to be in that room and be a part of that conversation. Also, just read that 432-page bill/report/whatever. Itís shocking how many people donít!

What is your favorite part of your day or job?
At the position I am currently in, my members are definitely the best part. These guys are legit bikersÖthink, leather vests, chains, tattoos, the works. And despite the reputation that some have, my guys are some of the most articulate, passionate and caring individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working for. They love their motorcycles and they love their country. Itís an honor to work on their behalf in Washington.
