Our goal as a professional organization is to get our members to engage! For this reason we have created our Volunteer page. These are bite-size opportunities with a beginning and an end. An opportunity for you to dip your toe in, give back and grow professionally. WGR is a volunteer-driven membership organization for women, by women. We rely heavily on our volunteer workforce to carry out our mission and support the community.

Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices
Are you a memo-writing maven? A one-pager wizard? A strategic planning superstar?  We want you. In support of our mission to create generations of powerful female advocates, WGR is looking for members for an Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices. The goal of this committee is to create an online resource library for WGR members where they can share samples and templates of successful outreach/communications plans, strategic planning documents, advocacy one-pagers, white papers, and even resources focused on internal clients, like memos for your boss or other executives within your company or organization.

Time Commitment: Initial brainstorming meeting will be a couple hours in person, starting in April followed by a few follow up meetings to get the resource library up and running. Future participation will be discussed.

Job Board Revitalization Ad-Hoc Committee
Did you know WGR has a job board? Standard protocol for any professional organization, right? Underutilized by members and industry employers, WGR needs to make a decision about the future of the board since there are other vendors that do it bigger and better. Do we build out the existing platform or consider a partnership with another vendor who has been more successful. WGR needs the right group of people to break down the barriers in order to provide the RIGHT platform to the GR community.

Time Commitment: Initial brainstorming meeting will be 1.5 hours in person in late May, followed by a few follow up meetings in person or via phone. Group to discuss best time and type of meeting.

Spring Reception Silent Auction Ad Hoc Committee (Repeats Annually)
Do you frequent many local businesses and dont shy away from making the ask? Are you interested in attending the Spring Reception but not comfortable working the room? We have a job for you! WGR is gearing up for our largest fundraising event of the year and we need a few volunteers to support the silent auction. Silent auction committee members work to solicit silent auction items, assist with communications, and manage the auction onsite with the help of staff. The auction is a critical fundraising component of the event. This is a fun way to get involved and meet new people. Please help us make this the best auction yet!

Time Commitment: Initial meeting will be one hour in person followed by a quick 30 minute check in call every other week until May 17th. Participation at the reception is helpful but not mandatory for committee participation.

Task Force Co-Chair or Committee Member (Year Round)
Opportunities to serve as Co-Chair of WGRs various Task Forces, Working Groups and Committees become available on an annual basis or as vacancies occur, which may be filled at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Please complete the form and indicate your areas of interest.

Time Commitment: 5 hours per month
Term: up to 2, 2 year terms
