Volunteer Opportunities

Our goal as a professional organization is to get you to engage! For this reason we have created our volunteer opportunities page. These are bite size opportunities with a beginning and an end. An opportunity for you to dip your toe in, give back and grow professionally. WGR is a volunteer driven membership organization for women, by women. We rely heavily on our volunteer workforce to carry out our mission and support our community.

Leadership Opportunities
The path to leadership starts by getting involved in a committee or task force. If you have been engaged for a while and are looking to take the next step, please complete the leadership interest form. We will notify you if positions become available in your interest area.

Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices
Are you a memo-writing maven? A one-pager wizard? A strategic planning superstar?  We want you. In support of our mission to create generations of powerful female advocates, WGR is looking for members for an Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices. The goal of this committee is to create an online resource library for WGR members where they can share samples and templates of successful outreach/communications plans, strategic planning documents, advocacy one-pagers, white papers, and even resources focused on internal clients, like memos for your boss or other executives within your company or organization.
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month
Term: 1 year

Ad-Hoc International Relations Interest Group
Interested in learning more about International Relations? Want to see international relations incorporated into WGR programming. We are looking for members who are interested in exploring focus on creating educational programming and networking opportunities around timely policy issues around international relations.
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month
Term: 1 year

Spring Reception Silent Auction Committee
The Spring Reception in WGRís largest fundraising event of the year. This annual event brings together members of Congress, congressional staff and the government relations community to honor leaders who embody the vision of WGR Ė to advance and empower women in our field. Silent auction committee members work to solicit silent auction items, assists with communications, and manage the auction onsite with the help of staff.
Time Commitment: 30 minutes to 1 hour per week
Term: 3 months

WGR Task Force Co-Chair or Committee Member
Opportunities to serve as Co-Chair of WGRís various Task Forces, Working Groups and Committees become available on an annual basis or as vacancies occur, which may be filled at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Please complete the form and indicate your areas of interest.
Time Commitment: 5 hours per month
Term: up to 2, 2 year terms
