Current and Past Leadership at 35th Anniversary Celebration
WGR, in partnership with the Womenís Congressional Golf Association (WCGA), hosts an annual spring golf tournament and clinic. This is a great opportunity to improve your game and have a little fun while furthering professional relationships on the course. Proceeds benefit the First Tee of Washington, D.C., a World Golf Foundation initiative, dedicated to providing young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop through golf and through character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship.
Education Series ďDirect Connect to CongressĒ with Judy Schneider
The Leadership Institute was designed to give unique insights and perspective on the inner workings of Congress. All classes feature JUDY SCHNEIDER, a specialist on Congress at the Congressional Research Service (CRS), an adjunct scholar at The Brookings Institution, and a former House and Senate committee staffer. A one-day mini-series takes place in the fall followed by a series of six classes which take place in January and February. This is one of WGRís most popular sessions so reserve your space early.
The Holiday Party is a complimentary event which takes place on Capitol Hill and provides WGR the opportunity to thank our members for their commitment, welcome new members, and showcase our organization for potential members. The party kicks off our annual membership drive and provides yet another opportunity to introduce your friends and colleagues to WGR.
The fall PACs, Politics and Grassroots Conference is one of WGRís largest annual events. We draw top-notch speakers and attendees who are leaders and decision-makers from corporate and trade association government affairs offices. Our members rely on this event to find and evaluate the latest innovations in political technology, products, and services.
The Spring Reception brings together Members of Congress, Congressional staff and the government relations community to honor Congressional leaders who embody the vision of WGR Ė to advance and empower women in our field. This one-of-a-kind social event is held at the beautiful Columbus Club in Union Station and includes fabulous food, spring libations, a raffle, and live music. Each year we honor an outstanding Member of Congress, a Congressional staffer, and one of our very own - WGRís Distinguished Member of the year. As a member, you will not want to miss WGRís premier event!.
Wine Tasting Reception
The Congressional Relations Task Force honors Congressional staff at our very popular wine-tasting reception. Wine is available for tasting and to purchase. This is a great opportunity to refine your wine palette while networking with key decision makers.
