WGR to Honor Amy Levine at 2010 Spring Soiree

At our upcoming 2010 Spring Soiree, WGR will recognize an outstanding Congressional staffer whose support of our organization and its efforts has been steadfast.  Congratulations to Amy Levine, a supporter of WGR’s Telecommunications and Information Technology programming, and a woman committed to seeing other women succeed.

Ms. Levine has had a long and substantive career as a Congressional staffer. She currently serves as Subcommittee Counsel to Chairman Rick Boucher for the Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Previously, she served as Senior Counsel to Chairman John Dingell on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for Telecommunications and the Internet matters; as Legislative Counsel to Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri for Senate Commerce Committee issues; and as Legislative Counsel to Mr. Boucher, handling communications, technology and intellectual property matters for his work on the House Energy and Commerce and Judiciary committees and the Congressional Internet Caucus.  Before working for Congressman Boucher, Ms. Levine practiced communications and media law as an associate at Covington & Burling.

Ms. Levine is a graduate of Yale Law School and has a bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from Yale University.  Prior to joining Covington & Burling, Amy clerked for Chief Judge Jerry Buchmeyer in the Northern District of Texas, and she previously served on the staff of former Senator J. Bennett Johnston.

Ms. Levine’s wealth of experience, knowledge and efforts to educate, develop and empower women in our field is inspiring.  Please join us on May 6th to show our appreciation to Ms. Levine and celebrate her contributions and support of WGR.
