Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 WGR Leadership Awards:

  • WGR Distinguished Member Award
  • Member of Congress Award
  • Public Sector Award

All WGR members are invited and encouraged to participate in our award nomination process.  Each year we honor a member of Congress, Congressional staffer and our very own Distinguished Member. These outstanding individuals will be recognized at our annual Spring Reception which will take place in Spring 2018.

Nominations must be submitted by Thursday, November 30, 2017.

WGR Distinguished Member Award - NOMINATE
The WGR Distinguished Member Award is presented each year to the WGR member who has demonstrated outstanding, ongoing service to the organization during their membership. In addition to continuous service, the award recognizes the member's initiative, innovation, dedication, and leadership skills. The WGR Distinguished Member award is not designed to recognize excellence in the nominees profession. Further, the Distinguished Member has supported WGRs vision to create generations of powerful female advocates and has contributed to helping WGR achieve its goals. With the exception of the any current or past President and previous recipients, all WGR members in good standing are eligible to receive the Distinguished Member Award.

Member of Congress Award - NOMINATE

The WGR Member of Congress Award is designed to honor Members of Congress who support WGRs vision to create generations of powerful female advocates. The Outstanding Member of Congress is an exemplary woman leader who has supported WGR by committing to our mission by either becoming an emeritus member; attending events such as a 20 to 1 or WGR Hill Day; or, by supporting and encouraging their staff to participate in WGR. You can nominate one republican and one democrat.

Public Sector Award - NOMINATE
The Public Sector Award is designed to honor a public sector employee who is in an employment relationship with any federal, state or local government entity and supports WGRs vision to create generations of powerful female advocates. The Public Sector Awardee is an exemplary woman leader who has supported WGR by either becoming a WGR member; demonstrated leadership in their field and within the WGR community; demonstrated commitment to WGRs mission to empowering women in the field of government relations; or being a champion of WGR programming.
