About Martha: I was born and raised in Minnesota. After I graduated college at the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in Political Science, I decided I needed to see a new part of the country and moved to DC. I love all the city has to offer, and there is always an adventure to be had.

What attracted you to WGR?
The opportunity to meet other young women who were passionate about government and politics.

What is your favorite part of your day and job?
I love walking to work in the morning. Passing all the historic buildings and monuments is surreal.

Any advice for young women?
I would encourage young women in government relations to network and meet as many people as possible. You never know when you could make new friends and meet people who can help you in your career.

What skills are do you think are most important?
Patience is a virtue. In government, you will constantly meet people who have opposing view points. It is important to listen, be kind, and patient while working and talking with others in your field.
