Our goal as a professional organization is to get our members to engage! For this reason we have created our Volunteer page. These are bite-size opportunities with a beginning and an end. An opportunity for you to dip your toe in, give back and grow professionally. WGR is a volunteer-driven membership organization for women, by women. We rely heavily on our volunteer workforce to carry out our mission and support the community.

Mentor Dinner Host
Are you an experienced professional looking to give back to the next generation of powerful female advocates? WGR is looking for government relations professionals with 15 or more years of experience to be mentor dinner hosts. Mentor Dinners are reserved for members and provide a networking opportunity that brings together women to discuss what life is like as a female in the field of government relations.  Dinners are held quarterly and usually attract 10-18 participants depending on the number of hosts. As a host you will guide conversation, provide perspectives and share your own life experiences. Interested? Contact the WGR office.

Time Commitment:  2-3 hours

Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices
Are you a memo-writing maven? A one-pager wizard? A strategic planning superstar?  We want you. In support of our mission to create generations of powerful female advocates, WGR is looking for members for an Ad-Hoc Committee on Best Practices. The goal of this committee is to create an online resource library for WGR members where they can share samples and templates of successful outreach/communications plans, strategic planning documents, advocacy one-pagers, white papers, and even resources focused on internal clients, like memos for your boss or other executives within your company or organization. Time Commitment: Initial brainstorming meeting will be a couple hours in person, starting in April followed by a few follow up meetings to get the resource library up and running. Future participation will be discussed.

Regulatory Events Ad-Hoc Committee
Do you rattle off terms like APA, RegFlex Act and 12866 Review without thinking about it? Do you spend your time digging through the Federal Register and the U.S. Code? Want to know why any of that matters? WGR needs regulatory experts and novices to come together and help shape the path forward for events as we expand our programing in this area. Bring your expertise and inquiries to the table and help draft a plan for future events. Click here to express interest.

Time Commitment: A few brainstorming meetings throughout the year with the opportunity to take the lead on planning an event. Group to discuss best time and type of meeting.

Task Force Co-Chair or Committee Member (Year Round)
Opportunities to serve as Co-Chair of WGRís various Task Forces, Working Groups and Committees become available on an annual basis or as vacancies occur, which may be filled at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
