Event Description

Join the Education Task Force and Workplace Anti-Harassment Committee for a 20:1 with Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL), Education & Labor Committee Member. Representing the first district of Alabama, Congressman Byrne was elected in 2013 after winning a special election. The Congressman is a former member of the Alabama State Board of Education and former Chancellor of the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, and serves as the Ranking Member of the House Education and Labor Subcommittee on Workforce Protections. Through the Committee, Congressman Byrne has championed workforce training and technical education issues. Rep. Byrne also co-chairs the Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus, which comprises 95 Republican and Democratic U.S. Senators and Representatives. The Caucus launched the HBCU Partnership Challenge in 2017 to strengthen public-private investments in HBCUs to ensure their future sustainability, increase career prospects for their students, and advance diversity and inclusion within all sectors of employment. Additionally, Rep. Byrne has been an outspoken champion for ending workplace harassment and services as a critical male voice on this issue.

This virtual event provides an opportunity to get to know Congressman Byrne. He offers a unique perspective on so many issues WGR holds dear, champion women in the workplace, diversity in the workforces, and addressing sexual harassment directly. Join us to discuss your organization’s priorities, learn what’s on the horizon as the 116th Congress concludes, and how we cultivate male allies in Congress.
