Event Description

Join the Education Task Force for a 20:1 with Education & Labor Committee Member, Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL). Representing the first district of Alabama, Congressman Byrne was elected in 2013 after winning a special election. The Congressman is a former member of the Alabama State Board of Education and former Chancellor of the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, and serves as the Ranking Member of the House Education and Labor Subcommittee on Workforce Protections. Through the Committee, Congressman Byrne has championed workforce training and technical education issues. Rep. Byrne also co-chairs the Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus, which comprises 95 Republican and Democratic U.S. Senators and Representatives. The Caucus launched the HBCU Partnership Challenge in 2017 to strengthen public-private investments in HBCUs to ensure their future sustainability, increase career prospects for their students, and advance diversity and inclusion within all sectors of employment.
This virtual event provides an opportunity to get to know Congressman Byrne, discuss your organization’s priorities, and learn what’s on the horizon for the House as COVID-19 relief package negotiations continue and the 116th Congress concludes.
