Volunteers are the heart of WGR. Serving as a WGR leader is an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues and create business connections, enhance your leadership skills, share your voice and give back. Participation in a WGR provides a natural path for getting more involved in the organization.

Time commitment is two years, 4-8 hours a month.

Additional Ad Hoc Positions beginning Immediately
Spring Reception Silent Auction Ad Hoc Committee
Do you frequent many local businesses and don’t shy away from making “the ask?” Are you interested in attending the Spring Reception but not comfortable working the room? We have a job for you! WGR is gearing up for our largest fundraising event of the year and we need a few volunteers to support the silent auction. Silent auction committee members work to solicit silent auction items, assist with communications, and manage the auction onsite with the help of staff. The auction is a critical fundraising component of the event. This is a fun way to get involved and meet new people. Please help us make this the best auction yet!
Time Commitment: Initial meeting will be one hour in person followed by a quick 30 minute check in call every other week until May 12th. Participation at the reception is helpful but not mandatory for committee participation.
Professional Women in Advocacy Conference Committee
The PWIA Conference brings together women working in all aspects of government relations and public affairs including political engagement, lobbying, communications, fundraising, law, campaigns and activism in a comfortable and open learning environment that is collaborative and fun. WGR is looking for a FEW GOOD WOMEN to kick off this year’s conference, now under the WGR umbrella.
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per month including monthly calls with increased time in the month before and of the conference depending on role.
The Excellence in Advocacy Awards Peer Judges
This committee will select finalists for the 2020 Excellence in Advocacy Awards. Selection committee members will be asked to review and evaluate nominations based on set criteria. Committee members will review 15-20 nominations, collaborate with other judges in their category in person or via phone and attend an in-person final selection meeting.
Time Commitment: Ability to spend 2-4 hours reviewing applications and 1-2 in-person meetings for 2 hours.
