News & Press: Announcements

Business as usual, but formats may change

Tuesday, March 10, 2020
We know you count on WGR for year-round professional development, information and networking. While we navigate this difficult flu season and some unchartered territories, we understand there may be anxiety around attending events in person.
Your health and well-being is our #1 priority and we will do what we can to help mitigate the health risks while still providing access to information and opportunities to connect.

WGR events will continue as usual unless otherwise noted. We simply ask that you refrain from kissing, hugging, and handshakes – we recommend an elbow tap! We have a full calendar of events this Spring and we will continue to evaluate whether we need to hold these events in person or by webinar if necessary.
As a small organization that relies heavily on the financial support of event fees and sponsorships, we thank you in advance for your continued attendance, support, and flexibility.

That being said, we will continue to follow guidance from the CDC and will let you know if we need to make any alterations to our events, policies, or procedures. As a reminder, everyday preventive actions help prevent the spread of illness:
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when feeling sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
As always please feel free to reach out to any of our leaders or staff if you have any questions or concerns.
