2020 has turned out to be a year much different than any of us expected. For so many, we have learned how to be resilient and flexible while adapting to new surroundings. From lobbying virtually, to communicating with stakeholders through new digital means, our public policy and advocacy programs have been put to the test. We have been challenged in ways we didn’t think possible, and as we continue to blaze a path forward to conquer each challenge, we have transformed into our own everyday superheroes.
It’s seems only fitting our theme for this year’s Professional Women in Advocacy Conference be:
Extraordinary Women: The Everyday Superheroes Among Us
Women are the unsung heroes in our field. Each of us has a superpower we flex as we interact with audiences to shape policy and advocacy efforts, and our skill is always evolving. The Professional Women in Advocacy Conference brings together Superheroes in our field to share tools and best practices that help you grow in your career. It’s an opportunity to prioritize yourself and invest time learning, listening and leveraging new tools as you elevate your craft.
This year the conference offers new benefits along with a few changes:
Access to a Larger Community - Now under the WGR umbrella, conference attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a larger audience before, during and after the conference. We encourage you to learn more about the benefits of WGR (link) including year-round programming and networking opportunities.
New Format – This year the conference will be held virtually over three days, November 9-11. This allows attendees to participate from the comfort of their own environment and as their schedule allows.
Discounts – The new format will allow for a lower registration fee and discounts will be available for WGR members and conference attendees interested in joining WGR. Our new website will launch at the end of the month. Stay tuned for updates about speakers and the program!
Being an extraordinary superhero takes resiliency to the changes happening around us and a commitment to prioritizing ourselves. We hope you will join us for this year’s powerful conference!
