AARP is a long-time advocate for increasing awareness, providing best care, and ensuring emotional well-being for Family Caregivers and their loved ones. They are a large demographic in the United States and women make up the majority of this group. Currently 48 million caregivers provide all types of care for loved ones. Former First Lady Rosalyn Carter has a famous quote…"There are only four kinds of people in the world – those that have been caregivers, those that are caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.” That is a very powerful but true statement and the reason why AARP is committed to identifying and offering solutions that assist our Nation’s caregivers.
AARP Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer, Nancy LeaMond, frequently writes blogs about family caregiving.
