EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join WGR’s PACs, Politics and Grassroots (PPG) Task Force on Thursday, November 6 from 11 am – 12 pm for a presentation on Congressional Hill Day and Site Visit Best Practices with Mike Whatley, Vice President State Affairs and Grassroots Advocacy at the National Restaurant Association.

Mike will provide PPG members with insight into how to plan, prepare and executive an effective Hill Day and best tips to ensure site visits deliver the intended message and leave your stakeholders feeling accomplished.

Mike brings a plethora of knowledge to the PPG, working in state affairs and grassroots advocacy for over twelve years. In his role as Vice President, State Affairs and Grassroots advocacy he advocates on behalf of restaurants in all 50 states, oversees the restaurant industry's grassroots efforts at all levels of government, and serves as the staff executive of the Restaurant Advocacy Fund.

Prior to working at the Association, he worked in Congress for the House Oversight Committee in the United States House of Representatives. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with honors in Government and received his MBA from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
