Medicaid 101

Medicaid, a state-federal partnership, is the largest coverage program for low income individuals and people with disabilities in the United States. While Medicaid programs vary across the U.S. and territories in terms of their eligibility and benefits, it is a lifeline for so many people and plays a critical role in addressing health equity. This session will cover the basics of the Medicaid program, including eligibility, covered services, cost-sharing, and how the program is financed. The session will also cover the different types of waivers, and briefly touch on its role in the Affordable Care Act (ACA). There will be time for questions.
