Value Based Care 101

As the health care system shifts from fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursement to tying payments for care delivery to quality, it is critical the advocates have a basic understanding of value-based care and what it means for policy. This session will provide an overview of how value-based care arrangements work, and the future of transitioning from FFS. Attendees can expect an overview of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), how accountable care organizations (ACOs) operate, and how CMMI designs and implements models. There will be ample time for questions.
