Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Summit
WGR’s annual DEI Summit aims to provide government relations professionals an opportunity to enhance their understanding of what DEI is, a clearer sense of its value, as well as the need for DEI within the government relations field. This year's Summit programming will unpack the key concepts of Ownership, Allyship, and Action, and each day the Summit will offer insights on the actions attendees can take to acknowledge, recognize, and hold one another accountable for authentic DEI work. Government relations professionals will leave with practical tools to advance their education and ownership around DEI within their field of government relations. #DEISummit2022
OWNERSHIP - Creating & Sustaining Community
- Lillian Bijl, Senior Director, Account Management, FiscalNote
- Amanda Reed, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications, FiscalNote
Objectives: The development of ownership and the honing of allyship are mechanisms through which FiscalNote both creates and cultivates strong, vibrant communities internally and externally. Within FiscalNote, specifically, we've married our CSR (corporate social responsibility) and DEIBA (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility) functions. This union ensures alignment and equity in company-wide programming and activities, in addition to creating consistency in participants' expectations. This session will explore this journey including best practices, data, and learnings .
